FTHOI is an annual fundraiser that raises money for a local charity in need. This fundraiser involves all health professional programs at Dalhousie (e.g. Dentistry, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, etc.). Each Faculty is responsible for fundraising and coming up with a play which includes a dance. The production is usually held near the end of the semester, in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Each Faculty competes to put on the best show, which is judged by a panel including the charity and FTHOI executives. FTHOI is a great way to get to know your classmates and it’s also a lot of fun! In order for this event to be a success, every year we require volunteers for the following positions: 1. Script Writers 2. Stage Mangers 3. Fundraising Volunteers 4. Choreographers 5. Actors 6. Dancers
This year’s charity (2019): INCLUSIVE MOVEMENT Halifax Dance offers Inclusive Movement dance classes for individuals with special needs. These classes are a safe and fun way for aspiring dancers to create and experience the joy of dance. Younger students will concentrate on basic locomotive skills and simple dance movement while using music and games to keep everything light and fun. Older student will learn creative jazz and combinations of movements while practicing their performance skills. Here is the website: https://www.hfxdance.ca/inclusive-movement
